Electronic invoicing in Italy, with the considerable advantages that have derived from it, is well known and documented. As we know, as early as 2019, electronic invoicing in Italy is mandatory for almost all business operators, including for B2C transactions. For the time being, only a few entities operating in a facilitated regime are excluded from the obligation: small agricultural producers, those subject to a flat rate regime, and a few others.

With such an extensive regulatory constraint and a well-established procedure, Italy is in an advanced position compared to other European countries, which are implementing, at various levels, a variety of actions to progressively extend the use of electronic invoicing.
